11/30/06- Richard will be performing percussion and vocals with West Chester University's Collegium Musicum. The program features works by Machaut.
11/8/06- Performance of water meditation on Etenraku by flautist Kimberly Reighley at West Chester University's Swope Hall Auditorium. Recording will be made available shortly.

5/13/06- Richard's first fully interactive piece between performer and computer, water meditation on Etenraku has been performed by oboist Charles Huang. More details can be found on the new electronic music page.
4/27/06- Richard has been presented with the Hartt School Composition Department's Diemente Award for the graduate level.
4/25/06- Richard is pleased to announce that his thesis, an orchestral piece based on Hokusai's "In the Hollow of the Great Wave off Kanagawa," has been accepted!
4/23/06- Richard conducted and performed (laptop computer) in three performances (Fri, Sat. and Sun.) of Robert Cimitile's collaboration with the Hartt School's Dance Division. Recordings should be available soon at Rob's website.
4/12/06- The performance of Five Scrolls of Musashi went incredibly, and the piece was well received. Audio files of a future studio recording with Bill Solomon should be posted within the coming months.
2/23/06- Five Scrolls of Musashi, for solo timpanist, will be premiered on April 12 at the Hartt School's Spring '06 Public Works concert by percussionist, Bill Solomon.
2/10/06- Richard has been commissioned by the Acoustical Society of America, University of Hartford chapter, to compose an original piece for a PVC pipe instrument designed by Lauren Zaccaro and the University of Hartford engineering department.

11/19/05- A series of 5 short solo bassoon pieces by Hartt composers (including "fledgling" by richard johnson) was premiered recently at a Public Works concert at the Hartt School of Music.
7/11/05- Richard is composing music for two new freeware games... "Quest 3" by the freeware-familiar Michael Duhm and "WarCry" with up and coming graphic-designer Jeph Nielson.
