Electroactousic Landscape No. 2 - "Brushed blossoms" is a piece for live performace on laptop using MaxMSP. "Brushed blossoms" is inspired simultaneously by the image of cherry blossoms and sumi painting. As Alan Watts explains, in this style of "nature painting," "the touch of the brush is so light and fluid… it is a perfect instrument for the expression of unhesitating spontaneity." There is no score. Instead, the performer is to paint with the MaxMSP tools provided a temporal sonic landscape of cherry blossoms… delicate yet vibrant, beautiful and impermanent.

To perform "Brushed blossoms", the performer requires a computer capable of running MaxMSP or its Runtime application. If you are interested in performing this piece, please contact richard at richard@composerjohnson.com.
